6 I got your wire saying you were off to Kennilworth. I wonder if you
7are going to England at once, or whether it is to see your brother off
8that you are going. Perhaps I shall hear tomorrow.

10 I return Miss Greenes letter. I am so very thankful all was as it was.
11Not only that the end was so beautiful & painless, but that her mother
12not knowing the end was come could not have been specially longing to
13see her once more. Surely that is a most beautiful death! If anything
14can console one for the going of ones beloveds, it is that they went
15so suddenly & painlessly that the great shadow hardly seemed to fall
16on them before it enfolded them.

18 I am stronger & am getting the house quite

20^into order at last. The weather here is much better; the cold is very
21bitter but drier than I have ever known it here in winter before. The
22farmers are complaining much of the drought I wonder whether Ellen
23Greene will come out here. Let me know when you hear from her. I hope
24going to Cape Town will not pull you down again. ^
