We got here last night after a most glorious drive in a cart with four
horses all day. This is a lovely place, oh so sweet & peaceful, with
kopjes all round, & clear blue sky, & ostriches & animals.
Johannesburg seems like a nightmare. I heard some very hopeful
political news in Bloemfontein. We are not without friends in high
quarters.

I am going to sleep now. I feel I could sleep all the time.
