Dear Friend

The Doctor won’t let me go near the coast, so we are going up to
Johannesburg to stay with the Lloyds, as the doctor says I must go
somewhere. We leave this Monday afternoon the 4th; get to Johannesburg
Wednesday morning. Will you & Miss Greene not come up too. Do. Do. Do!
We can go to Pretoria & see Oom Paul. I want to go to Amajuba too so
much. It will make all the difference to me if you are there. Somehow
I dread this visit somewhat, & if you are there a great load will be
lifted off me. You’ll be as good as the big waves at the Kowie.
We’ve been seen a good deal of Rudyard Kipling the last days. He’s
lovable.
