Dear Friend

I am so very glad to hear Miss Green is so much better. No doubt she
has had the best advice about her rheumatism but I have found Carls
Bad Salts
. The real salts condensed from the Carls Bad water such a
splendid thing, just to take a tea spoon full in water every morning
when one wakes, with out ever missing. The chemist will try to sell
you the imitation Carl Bad salts, which are cheaper & on which they
make more profit, but insist on having the real made from the true
Carls Bad Waters. It can’t do any harm, is a fine thing for the
healthiest person to take, & for constitutional rheumatism it simply
marvellous.

We are having beautiful cool weather here, lovely rains every day, for
the last ten days, Old Kimberley looking so bright & fresh & green.
Our bit of ground looks like a lawn. If I can get my Stray Thoughts
articles copied out & sent to England.

We are going to the Kowie for a week in March & Mr Lloyd is going
really this time to try & join us there, & if you & Miss Greene came
it would be just lovely. Do you think you could. I’ve got one
article ready, now there are two more.

Good bye. I’m so glad you are having such a good rest. My good boy
Jan has promised to stay on with me, but I am letting him go down to
Port Elizabeth at the time of the show here, when the tickets will be
cheap. leav Can That will be the best time for us to take our holiday.
Oh I do long so to paddle about bare foot at the Kowie all day.

Did you see in the paper that sad accident of my niece Mrs Charley
Earps
, & the drowing of her lovely little eight years old daughter? We
are all so anxious about Mrs Earpe because she is expecting her new
baby next month. Mrs Sauers little boy has arrived born on Xmas Day.
He is to be called “Paul Oliver”. I suppose after Oom Paul & me.
