Dear old man,

It is just like Heaven to be here after de Aar. The angina & awful
pulsations of the heart have entirely stopped.

Cron had a public meeting here last night. The great square hall
crowded, so that the people had to stand He made the best speech I
ever heard ^him make^. Answered the questions & took up the
interruptions so finely. A vote of confidence was carried with only 4
?discendants. I think his seat is safe: but he has still to go to the
other districts. He is so f infinitely better at a great popular
meeting than in Parliament. One man who had been interrupting all the
time came & shook hands with him after the meeting & is now his
greatest supporter.

When do you go to Queen’s Town? We leave for Laingsburg today. Cron
holds a public meeting there tomorrow. The next day we drive to Klein
?Zynhad morning & come back to Laingsburg

^on Friday morning. Let me find a card there telling me of your
movements. ^
