Darling Betty I have been hoping against hope you would turn up this
evening, but now it’s 11.30. so there’s no hope. I would have
tried to come & have a look at you at midday today as the weather was
so fine, but I did not know if I would find you there. I went down to
Victoria this evening. No trains hardly running there. I hope you
didn’t feel those awful cold days too much & F managed to keep warm.
I think Monday ^Wednesday^ was the worst day I ever knew.

Your little clock stopped on Wednesday morning, you cannot have wound
^it^ up quite enough.

Have you been able to get a ticket for Saturday? I wrote for three
tickets in case Alice came & you had not been able to get one. But
they wrote back they could give me no more tickets at Dr Ettie Sayer
had already written & got my ticket. She writes me that she couldn’t
get a ticket for herself, so she wrote again last Saturday using my
name, & asked for two tickets (thinking they would give it for me) &
they sent her two. One of which she has sent me; it is only for the
gallery & I asked for one near the platform. I have written to ask the
?Schutzes if they will drive me in their motor till where I can get a
bus: I don’t know yet if they can. If you come unreadable

I’ve never wanted so to go to a meeting. This is a real thing, not
just talk.

I got a very interesting letter from Cron today. He sees things all
clearly now. I do hope my darling this awful cold hasn’t made you
ill.
