5: We got here on Monday. We had a terrible storm the last two days &
6: nights & the cold was bitter. When we got into the docks at 10.30,
7: Will Schreiner & my niece Mrs Earp & her husband & the two dear
8: Mushetts & Ruth Alexander were there waiting & Dot Fan & Ednas
9: relations came later. I went with the Mushetts & Ruth to lunch at
10: Cartwrights. It was nice to taste real bread & real butter & real
11: fresh fish again. Then the Mushetts drove me out here in a Taxi.

13: Ursies little house is very sweet & the babe lovely, & clever.

15: Lord & Lady Buxton sent me a letter to the steamer asking me to dine
16: with them the next day as they are leaving, but of course I had to
17: refuse.

19: Dear Anna, oh looking so sweet but so aged, has been twice to see me &
20: many other friends, but I have heard nothing from Lucy, or any of them.
21: Will tell you when I hear. There is a dear little house close to Fans
22: empty, but they wont let it: want to sell it for £1000 pounds. No one
23: will let rooms or houses they only want to sell but I shall find some
24: place. I may have to go to an Hotel. Food is cheaper & splendid in
25: quality here than in England, but clothes &c are fabulous. I wore your
26: little green shawl the whole way out It was such a comfort, my darling
