4Dear Fan,

6My friend Havelock Ellis writes me three bombs dropped with in a few
7yards of his house The doctors house next door was destroyed, & the
8house in which he was rocked & shook. He says the noise was unpleasant.
9 To day you can’t get in or out of his for the thousands of sight
10seers who have filled the streets. I’m glad to know he’s all right
11or I would have had to go off to look him up.

13Do try all of you to get Bill over. I feel unhappy about “my little
14Will” out in those wilds alone & where none of us can get to him if
15
16^he’s ill.^
