Dear Fan

I spent all yesterday trotting up & down to the station. At 11
o’clock I went in the morning thinking Will might be coming by that
train as I’d had no answer from Dot about his coming. He wasn’t in
the train & I returned sorrowful. At 1 o’clock Dots wire came saying
he would come in the evening. At 6:30 6 o’cl I went down to meet you,
as you told me you would pass de Aar on Thursday & that’s the only
train you could come by. I took you down some "pad kost" some homemade
ginger preserve & biscuits, & a loaf of brown-bread & a bottle of
fresh milk, & a bunch of flowers for Hubert Suttons friend; but alas
when I got there I met Mrs Fuller who told me you had passed on
Wednesday! She was coming from East London too, & had seen Kitty. I
waited unreadable
I went to the library till 8:30 when Will’s train
came. I saw him only for a few minutes as they were late, & had to
make up time. ?Hall was on board & we spoke a few words to him. W I am
glad you have got a friend to stay with a bit; it would be very lonely
for you with Will away all day & Dot gone. I suppose she will be away
about a month. I hope Oliver will come then you be quite set up with
your two youngest. The weather is fine here, otherwise there’s no
news. Cron plays as much golf as he can I’m so glad for him to have
it his life is very monotonous here. He is going away to Bedford this
month to a golf match; & will be gone some days.

Good bye dear. I hope you enjoyed your visit very very much. So sorry
I didn’t see you.
