Dear Fan
5:
6:
Thankyou so much for the fruit. I did enjoy it greatly. Thank you for
7: wanting me to come, dear, but I can’t manage it now; & I’m such a
8: broken down old crock I shouldn’t be much fun to any one.
9:
10:
I leave for Mrs Haldane Murrays farm on the 2 11th I think. It’s
11: very hard to leave my husband & my home & go wandering about every
12: year for five or six months. The bitterest thing the war did for me
13: personally was to land us here, it seems forever.
14:
15:
The dear Purcells have just written to say they are keeping a seat in
16: their box for me at the pagent in case I come. I often wonder why my
17: dear friends are so good to such a broken down old thing as I am now.
18: Cron says you look so young & happy. I’m so glad, dear.
19:
20:
I’ll come & see you some time next year.
21:
22:
Good bye.
23:
Thine ever
24:
Olive
