I got the photograph signed by Dinuzulu yesterday, dear. I suppose you
sent it. I like it greatly. Your photograph is one I think I like
better in expression than any I’ve seen taken. There are no flies on
Renon: if one sat down on him it would be flapped off in two minutes!!
Dear Miss Colenso is most touching to me. All she is living through is
shown even in the fold of the hands. It is very beautiful.

//I’ve just had a wire begging me to come down to Cape Town & stay
with them at Sea Point where they have taken a house while the
convention sits. I would much like to go, because he is the one man I
may be able to influence a little on the native question. If they make
the fares single fare for double journey I may go down for a week
after the fifteenth. It is the immense expense of travelling that
makes life such a long solitary confinement in this country, & breaks
one down.

May the Lord reward that ?Cackajana according to his works! He’s
another Jan Van der Berg. I am very anxious to see Miss Colensos cross
examination this week Hither to following the reports they have not
made much head way.

Do look out for my boy Jim. I have such hopes that hearing your name
is Schreiner he might turn up to ask you about me some day. But my
fear is he has long been killed. He would be almost 30 now; a
magnificent Zulu, with delicate sharp cut almost European features. I
loved that boy & my boy Ganaliesway as I’ve loved few people.

Do try to take exercise regularly dear. Are there no golf links there?
Golf would be the making of you.

Yours small sister
