5It was nice to see you. I’d just had a rather important verdict from
6one of the specialists I’d been to see, & I couldn’t resist coming
7to see your dear beautiful young faces with all life before you. Joan
8must come to see me sometimes when she comes in shopping. She must
9rest somewhere, & might come & have tea here with me My telephone is
106516 6506 Paddington. Wire to m Telephone the day before if you can,
11but if not telephone to find if I’m in. I have to go out sometimes
12to my treatment

14I’m so interested in the big old house.

19I didn’t mean when I said I was “hard up” that my dear friends
20wouldn’t help me. But I meant I wanted so to take care of my-self
21till the end came, & pay for all nurses & doctors myself. I’ve
22always done every thing for myself all my life; its so hard to be a
23burden on my dear ones now. But one must accept life as it comes.
